Ultimate Loaded Beef and Cheese Taco Wraps Recipe

  • Author: I
  • Total Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 large flour tortillas (or whole wheat tortillas)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend)
  • 1 cup lettuce (shredded)
  • 1/2 cup tomatoes (diced)
  • 1/4 cup red onion (diced, optional)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
  • 1/4 cup salsa (or pico de gallo)
  • 1 avocado (sliced, optional)
  • Fresh cilantro (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Beef

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5–7 minutes.
  2. Drain excess fat if needed. Add taco seasoning and water to the skillet. Stir to combine and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.

Step 2: Prepare the Tortillas

  1. While the beef is cooking, warm the tortillas in a separate skillet or microwave until soft and pliable.

Step 3: Assemble the Wraps

  1. On each tortilla, layer the cooked beef, shredded cheese, lettuce, diced tomatoes, red onion (if using), and any other desired toppings.
  2. Drizzle sour cream and salsa over the top, and add slices of avocado if desired.
  3. Fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll it up tightly from the bottom to enclose the filling.

Step 4: Serve

  1. Cut the wraps in half if desired, and serve immediately. Garnish with fresh cilantro if you like.
