Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1 tablespoon taco seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 cup water
- 4 large flour tortillas (or whole wheat tortillas)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend)
- 1 cup lettuce (shredded)
- 1/2 cup tomatoes (diced)
- 1/4 cup red onion (diced, optional)
- 1/2 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
- 1/4 cup salsa (or pico de gallo)
- 1 avocado (sliced, optional)
- Fresh cilantro (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Beef
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5–7 minutes.
- Drain excess fat if needed. Add taco seasoning and water to the skillet. Stir to combine and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.
Step 2: Prepare the Tortillas
- While the beef is cooking, warm the tortillas in a separate skillet or microwave until soft and pliable.
Step 3: Assemble the Wraps
- On each tortilla, layer the cooked beef, shredded cheese, lettuce, diced tomatoes, red onion (if using), and any other desired toppings.
- Drizzle sour cream and salsa over the top, and add slices of avocado if desired.
- Fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll it up tightly from the bottom to enclose the filling.
Step 4: Serve
- Cut the wraps in half if desired, and serve immediately. Garnish with fresh cilantro if you like.
