Thanksgiving Peas Recipe

  • Author: I

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups frozen peas (thawed)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients

  1. Thaw Peas: If using frozen peas, thaw them by placing them in a colander under cold running water or by letting them sit at room temperature for a few minutes.
  2. Mince Garlic: Mince the garlic cloves and set aside.

Step 2: Sauté the Peas

  1. Melt Butter: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add Garlic: Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to let it brown.
  3. Add Peas: Stir in the thawed peas and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through.

Step 3: Season and Serve

  1. Add Lemon: Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the lemon juice and lemon zest. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Garnish: If desired, sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley for added color and flavor.
  3. Serve: Transfer the peas to a serving dish and enjoy them warm as a side dish.
