Ingredients
• 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 to 2 pounds)
• 1 cup Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce (or your favorite barbecue sauce)
• 1/2 cup chicken broth (or water)
• 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
• 1 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1 teaspoon onion powder
• Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
1. Season Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder on both sides.
Step 2: Combine Ingredients in the Crockpot
1. Layer Ingredients: Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot.
2. Add Sauces: Pour the Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce and chicken broth over the chicken. Add Worcestershire sauce for extra flavor.
Step 3: Cook the Chicken
1. Set Cooking Time: Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours. The chicken is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) and shreds easily with a fork.
Step 4: Shred the Chicken
1. Shred: Once cooked, remove the chicken from the crockpot and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the crockpot and stir to coat it in the sauce.
Step 5: Serve
1. Enjoy: Serve the sweet and tangy shredded chicken on hamburger buns, over rice, or with your favorite sides. Drizzle with additional barbecue sauce if desired.
