  • Author: I
  • Total Time: 4 hours 20 minutes

Ingredients

Scale

For the Strawberry Layer

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries (hulled and sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

For the Mascarpone Cream

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Assembly

  • 1 package (7 oz) ladyfingers (savoiardi)
  • 1 cup milk (for dipping)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for milk)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Strawberry Layer

  1. Mix Strawberries: In a medium bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Toss to coat and let sit for about 15 minutes to macerate.

Step 2: Prepare the Mascarpone Cream

  1. Whip Cream: In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In another bowl, mix the mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.

Step 3: Assemble the Tiramisu

  1. Prepare Milk Mixture: In a shallow dish, combine the milk and vanilla extract for dipping the ladyfingers.
  2. Dip Ladyfingers: Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the milk mixture (do not soak) and layer them in the bottom of a 9×9 inch dish.
  3. Layer Ingredients: Spread half of the mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers, followed by half of the macerated strawberries. Repeat the layers with the remaining ladyfingers, mascarpone cream, and strawberries.

Step 4: Chill

  1. Refrigerate: Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

Step 5: Serve

  1. Enjoy: Serve chilled, garnished with extra strawberries or powdered sugar if desired.
