Strawberry Donuts with Glaze Recipe

  • 2 tablespoons fresh strawberries (pureed)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (adjust for desired consistency)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.

Step 2: Make the Donut Batter

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, mix the buttermilk, vanilla extract, egg, and melted butter until well combined.
  3. Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the mashed strawberries gently.

Step 3: Fill the Donut Pan

  1. Fill the Pan: Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.

Step 4: Bake the Donuts

  1. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Cool: Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 5: Make the Strawberry Glaze

  1. Combine Glaze Ingredients: In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, pureed strawberries, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk or powdered sugar as needed.

Step 6: Glaze the Donuts

  1. Glaze the Donuts: Once the donuts are completely cool, dip the tops into the strawberry glaze, allowing excess to drip off. Place back on the wire rack.

Step 7: Serve

  1. Enjoy: Serve the donuts immediately or store them in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
