Ingredients
For the Pudding Layer:
• 2 cups whole milk
• 1 (3.4-ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
• 1 cup heavy cream
• 1/4 cup powdered sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Fruit Layer:
• 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
• 2 ripe bananas, sliced
• 1 tablespoon lemon juice (to prevent bananas from browning)
For Assembly:
• 1 package (about 10 ounces) vanilla wafers or graham crackers
• Whipped cream (optional)
• Extra strawberries and banana slices (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Pudding
• Whisk the whole milk and instant vanilla pudding mix together. Let it sit for 5 minutes to thicken.
• Whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
• Fold the whipped cream into the pudding mixture until smooth and creamy.
Step 2: Prepare the Fruit
• Toss the sliced bananas with lemon juice to prevent browning.
• Slice the strawberries and set them aside.
Step 3: Assemble the Dessert
• Add a layer of vanilla wafers or graham crackers to a trifle dish or cups.
• Add a layer of pudding mixture.
• Add a layer of sliced strawberries.
• Add a layer of sliced bananas.
• Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with pudding on top.
Step 4: Chill
• Cover the dessert and refrigerate for at least 2 hours so the flavors blend and the wafers soften.
Step 5: Serve
• Add whipped cream and extra fruit slices on top if desired.
