Instructions
• Combine Ingredients: In a medium saucepan, combine the rolled oats, milk, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, and salt.
• Cook: Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats are creamy and have absorbed most of the liquid.
• Slice Strawberries: While the oats are cooking, hull and slice the fresh strawberries. Set aside a few slices for garnish if desired.
• Spoon Oatmeal: Once the porridge is cooked, spoon it into bowls.
• Top with Strawberries: Add the sliced strawberries on top of the porridge.
• Add Yogurt or Cream: If using, add a dollop of Greek yogurt or whipped cream for extra creaminess.
• Drizzle and Garnish: Drizzle with additional honey or maple syrup if desired, and sprinkle with chopped nuts or seeds for added texture.
