Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh spinach (chopped)
- 1 cup cooked ham (diced)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (such as cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough (or pizza dough)
- 2 large eggs (beaten)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- Fresh herbs (like parsley or chives, for garnish, optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: Sauté the Spinach
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped spinach and sauté for 2–3 minutes, until wilted. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Step 3: Prepare the Filling
- In a bowl, mix the sautéed spinach, diced ham, shredded cheese, beaten eggs, garlic powder (if using), salt, and pepper until well combined.
Step 4: Roll the Dough
- Unroll the crescent roll dough on a lightly floured surface. If using pizza dough, roll it out into a rectangle.
- Evenly spread the spinach and ham mixture over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Starting from one end, carefully roll the dough into a log shape. Pinch the seams to seal.
Step 5: Bake
- Cut the rolled dough into 1-inch slices and place them on the prepared baking sheet, cut side up.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Step 6: Serve
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired. Serve warm and enjoy.
