Ingredients
Scale
For the Brownie Base:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
For the S’mores Topping:
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
- 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs (plus extra for topping)
- 1/4 cup chocolate sauce (for drizzling, optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat Oven
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
Step 2: Prepare the Brownie Batter
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
Step 3: Bake the Brownies
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
Step 4: Add S’mores Topping
- Once the brownies are baked, remove them from the oven and immediately sprinkle the mini marshmallows, chocolate chips, and graham cracker crumbs evenly over the top.
- For a toasted marshmallow effect, place the brownies under the broiler for about 1–2 minutes until the marshmallows are golden brown. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning.
Step 5: Cool and Serve
- Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10–15 minutes. If desired, drizzle with chocolate sauce before serving.
- Cut into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
