S’mores Brownies Recipe

  • Author: I
  • Total Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients

Scale

For the Brownie Base:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

For the S’mores Topping:

  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs (plus extra for topping)
  • 1/4 cup chocolate sauce (for drizzling, optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat Oven

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Step 2: Prepare the Brownie Batter

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.

Step 3: Bake the Brownies

  1. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).

Step 4: Add S’mores Topping

  1. Once the brownies are baked, remove them from the oven and immediately sprinkle the mini marshmallows, chocolate chips, and graham cracker crumbs evenly over the top.
  2. For a toasted marshmallow effect, place the brownies under the broiler for about 1–2 minutes until the marshmallows are golden brown. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning.

Step 5: Cool and Serve

  1. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10–15 minutes. If desired, drizzle with chocolate sauce before serving.
  2. Cut into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
