Ingredients
• 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
• 1/2 cup honey
• 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)
• 4 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
• 1 teaspoon ground ginger (or 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced)
• 1 teaspoon black pepper
• 1 teaspoon onion powder
• 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
• 1 tablespoon water (optional, for thickening)
• Optional garnish: sliced green onions and sesame seeds
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Sauce
• Mix Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, ground ginger, black pepper, and onion powder until well combined.
Step 2: Prepare the Pork Chops
• Season the Pork Chops: Season the pork chops with salt and pepper on both sides.
• Place in Slow Cooker: Arrange the pork chops in the bottom of the slow cooker.
Step 3: Add the Sauce
• Pour Sauce Over Chops: Pour the honey garlic sauce over the pork chops, ensuring they are well coated.
Step 4: Cook
• Cover and Cook: Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 4–6 hours or on high for 2–3 hours, until the pork chops are tender and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 145°F or 63°C).
Step 5: Thicken the Sauce (Optional)
• Make a Slurry: If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix the cornstarch and water in a small bowl to create a slurry.
• Add to Sauce: About 30 minutes before serving, stir the slurry into the sauce in the slow cooker and let it cook uncovered to thicken.
Step 6: Serve
• Garnish and Enjoy: Serve the pork chops with the honey garlic sauce spooned over the top. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
