- 2 cups pecan halves
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Slow Cooker
- Spray the inside of your slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray or line it with parchment paper for easier cleanup.
Step 2: Combine Ingredients
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, butter, water, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt.
- Stir until the mixture comes to a boil and the sugars are dissolved.
Step 3: Add Pecans
- Place the pecan halves in the slow cooker and pour the sugar mixture over them.
- Stir well to ensure all the pecans are evenly coated.
Step 4: Cook
- Cover and cook on low for about 2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes to ensure even coating and prevent burning.
Step 5: Cool and Serve
- After 2 hours, spread the candied pecans onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to cool.
- Let them cool completely before serving or storing. The pecans will harden as they cool.
