For the Shrimp:

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 lime, juiced

For the Tacos:

  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage (green or purple)
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

For the Creamy Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

 


Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare the Sauce

    1. Mix Sauce Ingredients: In a small bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and set aside.

    Step 2: Cook the Shrimp

    1. Season the Shrimp: In a medium bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
    2. Cook Shrimp: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Squeeze lime juice over the shrimp just before removing them from the heat.

    Step 3: Warm the Tortillas

    1. Warm Tortillas: In a separate skillet or on a grill, warm the tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until soft and pliable.

    Step 4: Assemble the Tacos

    1. Build the Tacos: Place a few shrimp in each tortilla. Top with shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes, red onion, and avocado slices.
    2. Add Sauce: Drizzle the creamy sauce over the top and garnish with fresh cilantro.

    Step 5: Serve

    1. Enjoy: Serve the tacos immediately with lime wedges on the side for extra zest.
