Sausage and Sweet Potatoes with Honey Garlic Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pound smoked sausage (sliced; kielbasa or your choice)
  • 2 large sweet potatoes (peeled and diced into 1-inch cubes)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

For the Honey Garlic Sauce

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (optional)
  • Chopped green onions (for garnish)

 


Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the diced sweet potatoes with olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder until evenly coated.

Step 2: Roast Sweet Potatoes

  1. Spread the seasoned sweet potatoes on a baking sheet in a single layer. Roast in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes.

Step 3: Cook the Sausage

  1. After 15 minutes, remove the baking sheet from the oven and add the sliced sausage on top of the sweet potatoes. Return to the oven and roast for an additional 15 minutes, or until the sweet potatoes are tender and the sausage is heated through.

Step 4: Prepare the Honey Garlic Sauce

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, grated ginger, and sesame oil until well combined.

Step 5: Combine and Serve

  1. Remove the sausage and sweet potatoes from the oven and drizzle the honey garlic sauce over the top. Toss gently to coat everything in the sauce.
  2. Sprinkle with chopped green onions before serving.
  3. Serve warm and enjoy.
