Ingredients
• 1 pound (450g) fresh mushrooms (such as cremini, button, or portobello), cleaned and trimmed
• 4 cloves garlic, minced
• 3 tablespoons olive oil
• 1 teaspoon dried thyme (or 1 tablespoon fresh thyme)
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
• 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (optional)
• Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Step 2: Prepare the Mushrooms
1. Clean the Mushrooms: Wipe the mushrooms with a damp cloth to clean them. Avoid soaking them in water to prevent them from becoming soggy.
2. Cut Larger Mushrooms: If using larger mushrooms, cut them in half or quarters for even cooking.
Step 3: Season the Mushrooms
1. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the cleaned mushrooms, minced garlic, olive oil, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Toss until the mushrooms are well coated.
Step 4: Roast the Mushrooms
1. Spread on Baking Sheet: Spread the seasoned mushrooms evenly on a baking sheet in a single layer.
2. Roast: Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the mushrooms are golden brown and tender.
Step 5: Add Balsamic (Optional)
1. Drizzle Balsamic: If desired, drizzle balsamic vinegar over the mushrooms during the last 5 minutes of roasting for added flavor.
Step 6: Serve
1. Garnish and Enjoy: Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped fresh parsley, and serve warm.
