Roasted Brussels Sprouts Recipe

  • Author: I
  • Total Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts (trimmed and halved)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar (optional)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Step 2: Prepare the Brussels Sprouts

  1. Trim and Halve: Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any yellow or damaged outer leaves. Cut each sprout in half lengthwise.
  2. Toss with Oil and Seasonings: In a large bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder (if using) until evenly coated.

Step 3: Roast

  1. Arrange on Baking Sheet: Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet, cut side down for maximum crispiness.
  2. Roast: Roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy on the edges.

Step 4: Finish and Serve

  1. Add Balsamic Vinegar: If desired, drizzle balsamic vinegar over the roasted Brussels sprouts just before serving.
  2. Top with Parmesan: Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes (if using) for added flavor.
  3. Enjoy: Serve warm as a side dish to your favorite main course!
