Quick & Easy Strawberry Danish Recipe

  • Author: I
  • Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries (hulled and sliced)
  • 1/4 cup sugar (divided)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • Optional: Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2: Prepare the Strawberry Filling

  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, 2 tablespoons of sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract. Gently toss to coat and set aside.

Step 3: Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture

  1. In another bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, remaining sugar (2 tablespoons), and lemon juice until smooth and creamy.

Step 4: Assemble the Danish

  1. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles. Arrange the triangles on the prepared baking sheet, overlapping the edges slightly to form a rectangle.
  2. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the center of the dough.
  3. Spoon the strawberry filling over the cream cheese layer.

Step 5: Bake

  1. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling to create a border. Brush the edges with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown.

Step 6: Cool and Serve

  1. Allow the Danish to cool slightly on the baking sheet.
  2. If desired, dust with powdered sugar before serving. Slice and enjoy warm.
