Oreo Truffles Recipe

  • Author: I
  • Total Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (15.35 oz) Oreo cookies (crushed)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips (or chocolate coating)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (optional, for thinning chocolate)
  • Sprinkles or crushed Oreos (for decoration, optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Oreo Mixture

  1. In a food processor, crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs. Alternatively, place them in a zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with the softened cream cheese. Mix until well combined and smooth.

Step 2: Form the Truffles

  1. Scoop out small portions of the Oreo mixture and roll them into balls about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Refrigerate the truffles for about 30 minutes to firm them up.

Step 3: Coat the Truffles

  1. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth. If desired, stir in the vegetable oil to thin the chocolate.
  2. Dip each chilled truffle into the melted chocolate using a fork or toothpick, letting the excess drip off. Place them back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.

Step 4: Decorate and Serve

  1. Sprinkle crushed Oreos or sprinkles on top of the chocolate before it sets, if desired.
  2. Return the truffles to the refrigerator for 15–20 minutes, until the chocolate is fully set.
  3. Serve the Oreo truffles chilled and enjoy.
