Oatmeal with Almond Butter & Banana Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups water or milk (or a combination of both)
  • 1 ripe banana (sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons almond butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Chopped nuts or seeds (optional, for topping)
  • Fresh fruit (optional, for topping)

 


Instructions

Cook the Oats

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring the water or milk to a boil.
  2. Stir in the rolled oats and a pinch of salt.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats are soft and have absorbed most of the liquid.

Add Flavorings

  1. Remove the oats from heat.
  2. Stir in the almond butter, honey or maple syrup (if using), and cinnamon until well combined.

Serve

  1. Spoon the oatmeal into bowls and top with sliced banana.
  2. Add chopped nuts or seeds and any additional fresh fruit if desired.
