Mouthwatering Crock Pot Beef and Broccoli Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds flank steak or sirloin, sliced thinly against the grain
  • 4 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced (or 1 teaspoon ground ginger)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)
  • Green onions, sliced (for garnish, optional)

 


Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Beef

  1. Slice the Beef: Thinly slice the flank steak against the grain and season with salt and pepper.

Step 2: Make the Sauce

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, cornstarch, sesame oil, minced garlic, and ginger until well combined.

Step 3: Cook in the Crock Pot

  1. Add to Crock Pot: Place the sliced beef in the crock pot and pour the sauce over the top. Stir to coat the beef evenly.
  2. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until the beef is tender.

Step 4: Add Broccoli

  1. Add Broccoli: About 30 minutes before serving, add the broccoli florets to the crock pot, stirring to combine. Cover and continue cooking until the broccoli is tender.

Step 5: Serve

  1. Plate the Dish: Serve the beef and broccoli over cooked rice or noodles.
  2. Garnish: Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired.
