Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (9 oz) cheese tortellini (fresh or frozen)
- 1/2 cup pepperoni slices
- 1/2 cup cooked Italian sausage (crumbled)
- 1/2 cup cooked ground beef (or diced ham)
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Fresh basil (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Tortellini
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.
- Add the tortellini to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions (usually about 3–5 minutes for fresh or 7–9 minutes for frozen). Drain and set aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Meat Mixture
- In a large skillet over medium heat, combine the pepperoni, cooked Italian sausage, and cooked ground beef. Cook for about 3–4 minutes until heated through.
- Stir in the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning. Bring to a simmer and let cook for another 2–3 minutes.
Step 3: Combine and Bake
- Add the cooked tortellini to the skillet with the meat mixture. Gently toss to combine, ensuring the tortellini is well coated with the sauce.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top.
- Cover the skillet with a lid and let it cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Alternatively, you can transfer the mixture to a baking dish and broil in the oven for a few minutes to melt the cheese.
Step 4: Serve
- Remove from heat, garnish with fresh basil if desired, and serve hot.
