Low-Carb Italian Ground Turkey Skillet Recipe

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 bell pepper (chopped, any color)
  • 1 zucchini (sliced)
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes (halved)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for topping)
  • Fresh basil (chopped, for garnish)

 


Instructions

Step 1: Heat the Skillet

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

Step 2: Cook the Turkey

  1. Add the ground turkey to the skillet. Cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned and cooked through (about 5–7 minutes).
  2. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.

Step 3: Add Vegetables

  1. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 2–3 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  2. Stir in the chopped bell pepper and sliced zucchini. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
  3. Mix in the halved cherry tomatoes and cook for another 2–3 minutes, until they begin to soften.

Step 4: Serve

  1. If desired, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and garnish with fresh basil before serving.
  2. Serve warm as a main dish or over a bed of greens.
