  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional, such as walnuts or pecans)
  • Whipped cream or ice cream (for serving)

 


Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Oven

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch pie pan.

Step 2: Mix the Ingredients

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, flour, cocoa powder, and salt until well combined.
  2. Add the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined. The batter will be thick.
  3. If using, fold in the chopped nuts.

Step 3: Bake the Pie

  1. Pour the batter into the prepared pie pan, spreading it evenly.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly soft. The pie will continue to firm up as it cools.

Step 4: Serve

  1. Allow the pie to cool for about 10–15 minutes before slicing.
  2. Serve warm with whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream on top.
