Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
Step 2: Mix Wet Ingredients
- Combine Bananas and Oil: In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Stir in the melted coconut oil.
- Add Honey and Vanilla: Mix in the honey and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Add Egg: Beat in the egg until fully incorporated.
Step 3: Mix Dry Ingredients
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon (if using), and all-purpose flour.
- Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Fold in Add-ins: If using, gently fold in the chopped nuts and chocolate chips.
Step 4: Bake
- Pour Batter: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Step 5: Cool and Serve
- Cool: Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice and Enjoy: Slice the bread and enjoy it plain or with a spread of butter or nut butter.
