Honey Soy Glazed Salmon Recipe

  • Author: I
  • Total Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (or 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (optional)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)
  • Green onions (sliced, for garnish)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Glaze

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil (if using). Set aside.

Step 2: Season the Salmon

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

Step 3: Cook the Salmon

  1. In a large skillet, heat a little oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down (if using skin-on) in the skillet. Cook for about 4–5 minutes without moving them to get a nice sear.
  3. Carefully flip the salmon fillets and pour the honey soy glaze over them. Cook for an additional 3–4 minutes, spooning the glaze over the salmon as it cooks. The glaze will thicken slightly and caramelize.

Step 4: Serve

  1. Remove the salmon from the skillet and transfer to serving plates. Drizzle any remaining glaze from the skillet over the top.
  2. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
  3. Serve warm with rice and steamed vegetables or a fresh salad.
