Scale
For the Pork Tenderloin
- 1 to 1.5 lbs pork tenderloin
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 2 teaspoons garlic (minced)
For the Honey Garlic Glaze
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (or rice vinegar)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Step 2: Prepare the Pork Tenderloin
- Trim and Season: Trim any excess fat from the pork tenderloin and pat it dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and pepper.
- Sear the Pork: In an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Sear the pork tenderloin for about 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
Step 3: Make the Honey Garlic Glaze
- Combine Ingredients: In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Add Glaze to Pork: Pour half of the glaze over the seared pork tenderloin, reserving the other half for later.
Step 4: Roast the Pork
- Roast: Place the skillet with the pork in the preheated oven and roast for 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C). Brush with the reserved glaze halfway through cooking.
Step 5: Rest and Serve
- Rest: Once cooked, remove the pork from the oven and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This helps retain the juices.
- Serve: Slice the pork tenderloin and drizzle with any remaining glaze. Serve with your favorite sides.
