High Protein Chocolate Banana Bread Recipe

  • Author: I
  • Total Time: 1 hour 5 minutes

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (or applesauce for a lighter option)
  • 1/4 cup honey (or maple syrup)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour (or oat flour)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate protein powder
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Batter

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas, Greek yogurt, honey, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, protein powder, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. If using, fold in the dark chocolate chips.

Step 2: Bake the Bread

  1. Pour Batter: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
  2. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 3: Cool and Serve

  1. Cool: Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  2. Enjoy: Slice the banana bread and enjoy it as is, or spread with nut butter for an extra treat!
