  • 1 cup nuts (such as almonds or walnuts)
  • 1/2 cup nut butter (such as almond butter or peanut butter)
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (for sweetness)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • Optional toppings:
  • Dark chocolate chips
  • Coconut flakes

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Mixture

  1. Blend Ingredients: In a food processor, combine the pitted dates, nuts, nut butter, cocoa powder, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Blend until the mixture is well combined and sticky.

Step 2: Form the Bars

  1. Line a Pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Press Mixture: Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and press it down firmly and evenly using your hands or a spatula.

Step 3: Chill

  1. Refrigerate: Place the baking dish in the refrigerator for about 1 hour to allow the mixture to firm up.

Step 4: Cut and Serve

  1. Slice Bars: Once set, remove the mixture from the baking dish using the parchment paper. Cut into bars or squares.
  2. Optional Toppings: If desired, melt dark chocolate and drizzle over the bars or sprinkle with coconut flakes before serving.
