  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup milk

 


Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).

Step 2: Prepare the Biscuit Mixture

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder (if using).
  2. Add Cheese and Ham: Stir in the shredded cheese and diced ham until evenly distributed.

Step 3: Combine Wet Ingredients

  1. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter and milk. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; it’s okay if there are a few lumps.

Step 4: Bake the Biscuits

  1. Prepare Baking Dish: Pour about 1/4 cup of melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Add Biscuit Batter: Spoon the biscuit batter into the baking dish over the melted butter. The batter will float on top of the butter.
  3. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
