Garlic Butter Salmon Recipe

  • Author: I
  • Total Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (divided)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley (or 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Salmon

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

Step 2: Cook the Salmon

  1. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the salmon fillets, skin side down, and cook for about 4–5 minutes until the skin is crispy.
  3. Flip the fillets and cook for an additional 3–4 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Remove the salmon from the skillet and set aside.

Step 3: Prepare the Garlic Butter Sauce

  1. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter.
  2. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the lemon juice and dried parsley, cooking for another minute.

Step 4: Combine and Serve

  1. Add the cooked salmon back to the skillet, spooning the garlic butter sauce over the top. Cook for an additional minute to warm the salmon through.
  2. Plate the salmon and drizzle with the garlic butter sauce. Serve with lemon wedges on the side.
