Ingredients
For the Pizza:
- 1 loaf of French bread (or Italian bread)
- 1 cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Topping Suggestions (optional):
- Pepperoni slices
- Cooked sausage, crumbled
- Sliced bell peppers
- Sliced mushrooms
- Olives
- Red onion, thinly sliced
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Step 2: Prepare the Bread
Cut the French bread in half lengthwise to create two long pieces.
Place the bread halves cut-side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
Step 3: Add Sauce and Cheese
Evenly spread the pizza sauce over the cut sides of the bread.
Generously sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
Follow with a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese.
Step 4: Season
Sprinkle garlic powder, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper over the cheese.
Step 5: Add Toppings
Add your choice of toppings on top of the cheese, distributing them evenly.
Step 6: Bake
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the bread are golden brown.
Step 7: Serve
Remove from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes.
Slice into individual pieces and serve hot.
Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
