Ingredients

• 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
• 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
• 3 large egg yolks
• 1/2 cup granulated sugar
• 1 cup mascarpone cheese
• 1 cup heavy whipping cream
• 24 ladyfinger cookies
• Cocoa powder, for dusting
• Chocolate shavings (optional, for garnish)


Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Coffee Mixture
1. Brew a strong cup of coffee and let it cool to room temperature. If using, mix in the coffee liqueur.

Step 2: Make the Mascarpone Mixture
1. In a mixing bowl, whisk the egg yolks and granulated sugar together until pale and creamy.
2. Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese until smooth and well combined.

Step 3: Whip the Cream
1. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
2. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated.

Step 4: Assemble the Tiramisu
1. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
2. In a rectangular dish (about 8×8 inches), arrange half of the soaked ladyfingers in a single layer. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.

Step 5: Chill and Serve
1. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
2. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and garnish with chocolate shavings if desired.
