Ingredients
• 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 to 2 pounds)
• 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
• 1 packet (1 oz) ranch dressing mix (or 1 tablespoon homemade ranch seasoning)
• 1 cup chicken broth
• 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
• Optional: 1 cup sliced mushrooms or chopped onions for added flavor
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
• Layer Ingredients: Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot. If using, add the sliced mushrooms or chopped onions on top of the chicken.
Step 2: Mix the Gravy
• Combine Soup and Seasonings: In a bowl, mix together the cream of chicken soup, ranch dressing mix, chicken broth, garlic powder, and black pepper until well combined.
• Pour Over Chicken: Pour the gravy mixture over the chicken in the crockpot.
Step 3: Cook
• Cover and Cook: Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
Step 4: Shred the Chicken
• Shred Chicken: Once cooked, remove the chicken from the crockpot and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the pot and stir to combine with the gravy.
Step 5: Serve
• Enjoy: Serve the chicken and gravy over rice, mashed potatoes, or egg noodles. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
