- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
Step 2: Cream the Butter and Sugars
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until creamy and well combined.
Step 3: Add Eggs and Vanilla
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
Step 4: Mix Dry Ingredients
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
Step 5: Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and white chocolate chips (if using).
Step 6: Scoop the Cookies
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Step 7: Bake
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft. They will continue to firm up as they cool.
- Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
