- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1 cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup pepperoni slices (optional)
- 1/2 cup bell pepper (diced)
- 1/2 cup onion (diced)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 4 hamburger buns
- Additional toppings (such as olives, mushrooms, or fresh basil, optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Mixture
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, pizza sauce, bell pepper, onion, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Step 2: Cook in the Crockpot
- Place the mixture into the crockpot and spread it out evenly.
- If using, sprinkle the pepperoni slices on top of the mixture.
- Cover and cook on low for 4–6 hours or on high for 2–3 hours, until the meat is cooked through and tender.
Step 3: Add Cheese
- About 15 minutes before serving, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top of the mixture. Cover and let it melt.
Step 4: Serve
- Once the cheese is melted, stir the mixture gently. Serve the pizza burger mixture on hamburger buns.
- Top with additional toppings like olives, mushrooms, or fresh basil if desired.
- Serve warm and enjoy.
