  • Author: I
  • Total Time: 2 hours 15 minutes

Ingredients

Scale

For the Base:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 cups pretzel sticks (broken into pieces)
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips (optional for drizzling)

For Topping (optional):

  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (e.g., pecans or walnuts)
  • 1/2 cup crushed candy canes (for a festive touch)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Crockpot

  1. Grease the inside of your crockpot with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Step 2: Melt the Base Ingredients

  1. In the crockpot, add the unsalted butter and brown sugar. Stir to combine.
  2. Cover and cook on low for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the butter is melted and the mixture is smooth.

Step 3: Add Remaining Ingredients

  1. Stir in the graham cracker crumbs until fully incorporated.
  2. Gently fold in the broken pretzel pieces and mini marshmallows until evenly distributed.

Step 4: Cook the Mixture

  1. Cover the crockpot and cook on low for an additional 1 to 1.5 hours, stirring every 30 minutes, until the mixture is heated through and the marshmallows are melted.

Step 5: Set and Cool

  1. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking pan. Use a spatula to spread it evenly and press it down gently.
  2. Allow the mixture to cool completely at room temperature.

Step 6: Add Toppings (if desired)

  1. Melt the semi-sweet and white chocolate chips separately in the microwave or using a double boiler.
  2. Once the base is cooled and set, drizzle the melted chocolate over the top. Sprinkle chopped nuts or crushed candy canes if desired.

Step 7: Cut and Serve

  1. Once the chocolate has set, cut the Christmas Crack into squares or bars.
  2. Serve and enjoy your delicious Crockpot Christmas Crack!
