Creamy Garlic-Paprika Shrimp Skillet Recipe

Ingredients

• 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 4 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
• 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
• 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter version)
• 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth
• 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
• Salt and pepper to taste
• Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
• Lemon wedges (for serving)


Instructions

Step 1: Sauté the Shrimp
1. Heat Olive Oil: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
2. Cook Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 2–3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Step 2: Prepare the Sauce
1. Sauté Garlic: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
2. Add Paprika and Red Pepper Flakes: Stir in the smoked paprika and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for another 30 seconds.

Step 3: Make it Creamy
1. Add Broth and Cream: Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth and bring to a simmer. Then reduce the heat and stir in the heavy cream.
2. Add Parmesan: Gradually mix in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.

Step 4: Combine and Serve
1. Return Shrimp to Skillet: Add the cooked shrimp back to the skillet and stir to coat them in the creamy sauce. Cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until heated through.
2. Garnish and Enjoy: Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
