Description
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
- 5–6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (or dried thyme)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
- Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
Step 2: Cook the Chicken
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter.
- Once the butter has melted and is bubbling, add the chicken breasts.
- Cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on one side until golden brown.
- Flip the chicken and cook for another 6-7 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Step 3: Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce
- In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter.
- Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant (be careful not to burn it).
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning, mixing until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
Step 4: Combine and Serve
- Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the creamy sauce over them.
- Allow the chicken to simmer in the sauce for about 2-3 minutes to reheat.
- Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
Step 5: Serve
- Serve the creamy garlic butter chicken breasts over pasta, rice, or with steamed vegetables.
- Drizzle extra sauce on top for added flavor.
