Creamy Beer Cheese Dip Recipe

  • Author: I
  • Total Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup non-alcoholic beer or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Chopped green onions or chives (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Base

  1. Melt Butter: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  2. Add Flour: Whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute to create a roux, stirring constantly.

Step 2: Add Liquid

  1. Pour in Liquid: Gradually whisk in the non-alcoholic beer or vegetable broth, continuing to stir until the mixture is smooth and begins to thicken, about 2–3 minutes.

Step 3: Add Cheeses and Seasoning

  1. Stir in Cheeses: Lower the heat and add the shredded cheddar cheese and cream cheese. Stir until the cheeses are completely melted and the dip is smooth.
  2. Season: Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to taste. Mix well to combine.

Step 4: Serve

  1. Garnish: Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped green onions or chives if desired.
  2. Enjoy: Serve warm with pretzels, tortilla chips, or fresh vegetables for dipping.
