Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Base
- Melt Butter: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add Flour: Whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute to create a roux, stirring constantly.
Step 2: Add Liquid
- Pour in Liquid: Gradually whisk in the non-alcoholic beer or vegetable broth, continuing to stir until the mixture is smooth and begins to thicken, about 2–3 minutes.
Step 3: Add Cheeses and Seasoning
- Stir in Cheeses: Lower the heat and add the shredded cheddar cheese and cream cheese. Stir until the cheeses are completely melted and the dip is smooth.
- Season: Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to taste. Mix well to combine.
Step 4: Serve
- Garnish: Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped green onions or chives if desired.
