Chicken Florentine Style Recipe

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 6 cups fresh spinach (washed and roughly chopped)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

 


Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken

  1. Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 2: Cook the Chicken

  1. Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for 6–7 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and golden brown.
  2. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Step 3: Sauté the Spinach

  1. In the same skillet, add the butter and let it melt.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the spinach and cook for 2–3 minutes, until wilted.

Step 4: Make the Cream Sauce

  1. Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine, bringing it to a gentle simmer.
  2. Stir in the Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes if using.
  3. Cook for 2–3 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.

Step 5: Combine and Serve

  1. Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and spoon the sauce over them to coat evenly.
  2. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Step 6: Serve

  1. Serve hot with pasta, rice, or a fresh salad.
