- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup onion (chopped)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 1/4 cup pickles (chopped, optional)
- Ketchup and mustard (for serving, optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Step 2: Cook the Beef and Onions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat if necessary. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 3: Prepare the Pie Filling
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture, 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, milk, eggs, flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
Step 4: Bake the Pie
- Pour the beef mixture into a greased pie dish or a 9-inch round baking dish.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until the pie is set and the top is golden brown.
Step 5: Serve
- Let the pie cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm, garnished with chopped pickles, ketchup, and mustard if desired.
