Candy Cane Brownie Bombs Recipe

  • Author: I
  • Total Time: 50 minutes

Ingredients

For the Brownie Bombs:
• 1 box brownie mix (plus ingredients required on the box, usually eggs, oil, and water)
• 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
• 1/4 cup powdered sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Coating:
• 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or dark chocolate chips)
• 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother melting)
• 1/2 cup crushed candy canes (for topping)

Instructions

Step 1: Bake the Brownies
1. Prepare Brownies: Preheat your oven according to the brownie mix instructions. Prepare the brownie batter as directed on the box.
2. Bake: Pour the brownie batter into a greased 8×8-inch baking pan and bake according to package instructions. Allow the brownies to cool completely.

Step 2: Make the Filling
1. Mix Filling Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and well combined.

Step 3: Form the Bombs
1. Crumble Brownies: Once the brownies are completely cooled, crumble them into a large bowl.
2. Combine with Filling: Add the cream cheese mixture to the crumbled brownies. Mix until thoroughly combined.
3. Shape into Balls: Using your hands, scoop out portions of the brownie mixture and roll them into 1-inch balls. Place the balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Step 4: Chill
1. Chill the Balls: Place the brownie balls in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up.

Step 5: Coat the Brownie Bombs
1. Melt Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using). Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
2. Dip the Bombs: Remove the brownie balls from the refrigerator. Dip each ball into the melted chocolate, allowing any excess to drip off. Place them back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
3. Add Candy Cane Topping: While the chocolate coating is still wet, sprinkle the crushed candy canes on top of each brownie bomb.

Step 6: Set and Serve
1. Let Set: Allow the chocolate coating to set at room temperature or place them in the refrigerator for quicker setting.
2. Enjoy: Once set, serve your Candy Cane Brownie Bombs and enjoy the festive flavors!
