For the Brownie Base:

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) red velvet cake mix
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

For the Cheesecake Swirl:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

 


Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Step 2: Prepare the Brownie Mixture

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the red velvet cake mix, vegetable oil, eggs, and water. Stir until well combined.
  • If desired, fold in the chocolate chips for added richness.

Step 3: Make the Cheesecake Filling

  • In another bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

Step 4: Assemble the Brownies

  • Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  • Spoon the cheesecake mixture over the brownie layer, spreading it gently to cover the surface.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the remaining brownie batter over the cheesecake layer.
  • Use a knife or toothpick to swirl the brownie batter into the cheesecake for a marbled effect.

Step 5: Bake the Brownies

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Avoid overbaking for fudgy brownies.
  • Allow the brownies to cool in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into squares.
