Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Juice of 1 lime (optional, for added flavor)
- Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
- Place the chicken breasts between two pieces of plastic wrap or parchment paper. Use a meat mallet or rolling pin to gently pound them to an even thickness (about 1/2 inch) for more even cooking.
- In a small bowl, mix together the Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the chicken breasts.
- Drizzle the olive oil over the seasoned chicken breasts, ensuring they are well coated. If using, squeeze the lime juice over the top for extra flavor.
Step 2: Preheat the Grill
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F or 200°C). If using a grill pan, heat it over medium-high heat on the stovetop.
Step 3: Grill the Chicken
- Place the seasoned chicken breasts on the grill. Cook for 6–7 minutes on one side without moving them to get nice grill marks.
- Flip the chicken breasts and grill for an additional 5–7 minutes on the other side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Step 4: Rest and Serve
- Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for about 5 minutes to retain its juices.
- Slice the chicken, if desired, and garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
- Serve the Cajun grilled chicken breast with your favorite sides, such as rice, grilled vegetables, or a fresh salad.
