Cajun Grilled Chicken Breast Recipe

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Juice of 1 lime (optional, for added flavor)
  • Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

 


Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken

  1. Place the chicken breasts between two pieces of plastic wrap or parchment paper. Use a meat mallet or rolling pin to gently pound them to an even thickness (about 1/2 inch) for more even cooking.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the chicken breasts.
  3. Drizzle the olive oil over the seasoned chicken breasts, ensuring they are well coated. If using, squeeze the lime juice over the top for extra flavor.

Step 2: Preheat the Grill

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F or 200°C). If using a grill pan, heat it over medium-high heat on the stovetop.

Step 3: Grill the Chicken

  1. Place the seasoned chicken breasts on the grill. Cook for 6–7 minutes on one side without moving them to get nice grill marks.
  2. Flip the chicken breasts and grill for an additional 5–7 minutes on the other side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Step 4: Rest and Serve

  1. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for about 5 minutes to retain its juices.
  2. Slice the chicken, if desired, and garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
  3. Serve the Cajun grilled chicken breast with your favorite sides, such as rice, grilled vegetables, or a fresh salad.
