- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- Optional: 1 tablespoon sugar (for topping)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease it lightly.
Step 2: Prepare the Dry Ingredients
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Step 3: Mix the Wet Ingredients
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, egg, vanilla extract, and milk until well combined.
Step 4: Combine Mixtures
- Mix Together: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; the batter should be slightly lumpy.
- Fold in Blueberries: Gently fold in the blueberries, being careful not to break them.
Step 5: Bake the Muffins
- Fill Muffin Tin: Divide the batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full. If desired, sprinkle a little sugar on top of each muffin for added sweetness and crunch.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and the muffins are golden brown.
Step 6: Cool and Serve
- Cool Slightly: Remove the muffins from the oven and let them cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Enjoy: Serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy your delicious Blueberry Muffins!
