Apple Pie Tacos Recipe

  • Author: I

Ingredients

Scale

For the Taco Shells:

  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

For the Apple Filling:

  • 3 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon butter

For Serving:

  • Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (optional)
  • Caramel sauce (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Apple Filling

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the diced apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), lemon juice, and cornstarch. Stir to combine.

Cook the mixture for about 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender but still slightly crisp. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 2: Prepare the Taco Shells

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.

Brush both sides of each tortilla with melted butter, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over both sides.

Place the tortillas in a taco holder or drape them over the bars of an oven rack to create a taco shape.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 10–12 minutes, or until the tortillas are golden brown and crispy.

Step 3: Assemble the Tacos

Once the taco shells are baked and cooled slightly, fill each shell with the apple mixture.

Serve warm, topped with whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, or a drizzle of caramel sauce if desired.
