Apple Cinnamon Breakfast Quesadillas Recipe

  • 4 flour tortillas (8-inch)
  • 2 cups apples (peeled, cored, and thinly sliced; use a mix of sweet and tart apples)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or a blend of your choice)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for cooking)
  • Optional: Maple syrup (for serving), powdered sugar (for dusting)

 


Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Apple Filling

 

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
  2. Add the sliced apples, cinnamon, and brown sugar.
  3. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender and caramelized.
  4. Remove from heat.

 

 

Step 2: Assemble the Quesadillas

 

  1. On one half of each tortilla, layer a portion of the cooked apples and a sprinkle of shredded cheese.
  2. Fold the other half of the tortilla over to create a half-moon shape.

 

 

Step 3: Cook the Quesadillas

 

  1. In the same skillet, melt the remaining tablespoon of butter over medium heat.
  2. Place the folded quesadillas in the skillet.
  3. Cook for 2–3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and the cheese has melted. You may need to cook them in batches.

 

 

Step 4: Serve

 

  1. Remove from the skillet and let cool slightly.
  2. Slice each quesadilla into wedges.
  3. Serve warm with maple syrup for dipping and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
