Apple Bacon and Cheddar Grilled Cheese Recipe

Ingredients

• 4 slices of bread (your choice, such as sourdough, whole grain, or white)
• 4 slices of sharp cheddar cheese
• 1 medium apple, thinly sliced (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
• 4 slices of cooked bacon
• 2 tablespoons butter
• Salt and pepper, to taste
• Optional: Honey or maple syrup for drizzling


Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients
• Cook Bacon: If you haven’t done so already, cook the bacon until crispy. Drain on paper towels and set aside.
• Slice Apple: Thinly slice the apple and set aside.

Step 2: Assemble the Sandwich
• Layer Ingredients: On two slices of bread, layer one slice of cheddar cheese, followed by a few apple slices, two slices of bacon, and another slice of cheddar cheese. Top with the remaining slices of bread to form a sandwich.

Step 3: Grill the Sandwich
• Heat Skillet: In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
• Cook Sandwich: Place the assembled sandwiches in the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted. If needed, add the remaining butter to the skillet when flipping the sandwiches.

Step 4: Serve
• Slice and Serve: Once the sandwiches are golden and crispy, remove them from the skillet. Let them cool for a minute, then slice in half.
• Optional Drizzle: Drizzle with honey or maple syrup if desired for added sweetness.
